Organizing Resources with Azure
Azure provides a logical hierarchy to help organize and manage your cloud assets:
- Resources: These are the individual services or components, such as virtual machines, databases, or storage accounts.
- Resource Groups: These act as containers for related resources, enabling you to manage and apply settings to them collectively. You can deploy, monitor, and apply policies at the resource group level.
- Subscriptions: Each subscription contains one or more resource groups. Subscriptions are commonly used to separate billing, cost management, and administrative boundaries.
- Management Groups: At the top of the hierarchy, management groups allow organizations to group and manage multiple subscriptions. Security permissions and policies can be assigned at this level and cascaded downward, applying automatically to all nested groups and resources
